Gen-An is produced by an extremely well-known Japanese whisky and is back by one of Japan's largest beer companys, Asahi Beer. Considering these factors, you would think that either Gen-An was just another mediocre beverage being pushed by big business or that Gen-An has enough support from their parent company and experience under their belts to produce something of great quality. In all actuality, Gen-An would be better described as the latter of the two theories. Gen-An is easy and enjoyable to drink. It has a very light and almost fruity fragrance which is truly a reflection of its flavor. The taste is clean and light, making Gen-An easy to drink. In the flavor lies a soft sweetness with a hint of woodiness due to the barley blending. The finish is medium with very subtle remenants of the full flavor. All in all, Gen-An is a good choice for those looking from something a little different and far less complex.
